Windows Support
Examples of such are:
- Removal of viruses and Spyware
- Replacing faulty power supplies
- Upgrading and installation of hard drives
- Upgrading memory
- Backup of personal information
- Installation and customisation of new operating systems such as Windows 7
Although the above can be carried out on-site, the machine can be removed while work is carried out back in the workshop as this allows long running installations and other operations to be done in a cost effective manner for the customer.
Linux Support
Some customers have Linux machines and Mark can help with their maintenance since he has maintained a keen interest in a variety of Linux related operating systems for 10 years. He runs three Mint 10 machines and a Centos 6.2 machine as well as a number of virtualised machines for testing distributions such as Ubuntu and Suse.
